We’re excited to announce the release of Discounts for SureCart 1.1, which includes several noteworthy new features and improvements to help set discounts on your SureCart store. Whether you’re using the default SureCart product pages or building your store with a different page builder, this update has new features for each scenario! This post and video will cover all new features and improvements since version 1.0 was released.

Compatibility With SureCart 3

In anticipation of the upcoming release of SureCart 3, we’ve proactively updated our plugin code to ensure seamless integration and smooth performance. We have done this for all our SurelyWP addons, so you can upgrade confidently, knowing your tools will continue to work smoothly with the next big version of SureCart.

Enable Discount On SureCart Product Pages

You can now effortlessly enable discounts directly from your SureCart product pages with our new setting! Simply link each product to a specific discount configuration to streamline your promotions. Please note that if a product has multiple prices, variants, or subscription options, only discounts using the “Coupon Method” discount type will be available for selection. You can create new discounts or manage existing ones through the SurelyWP addon. After selecting a discount, the page will refresh to ensure proper association with the product, making it easier than ever to apply discounts and boost sales!

Automatically Apply Site-Wide Coupon Code In Checkout

Get ready for a game-changer! With our new automatic coupon application feature, you can now set sitewide discounts that apply instantly at checkout. Imagine the possibilities—no more asking customers to find and enter a coupon code. Now, you can apply discounts without any customer input to any product and pricing option, maximizing sales with minimal setup!

• Hands-Free Savings: Set a discount, and let SureCart do the rest! The coupon code is applied automatically in the cart and checkout, creating a seamless experience that keeps customers moving smoothly through the buying process.
• Perfect for Scheduled Sales: Planning a flash sale or limited-time offer or Black Friday sale? The automatic coupon application will kick in exactly when your promotion starts, so you never miss a beat.
• Support For Subscriptions: This opens up an incredible new capability in our plugin to apply discounts automatically for subscription pricing options, which was not previously available in our plugin due to limitations with the SureCart API.

Best of all, you can apply sitewide discounts effortlessly, bringing every shopper into the deal without the extra clicks. Don’t forget to update your default message, which appears on product pages.

This option allows you to create a smooth, distraction-free path to checkout, where the discount is automatically applied without extra steps. 

Added Setting To Show Or Hide Coupon Code In Discount Notice

We’ve added a flexible setting that lets you choose whether to display the coupon code directly in your discount notices on product pages. By default, the code is visible, giving customers the ability to click to copy the coupon code. However, if you are using the new feature to apply the coupon code automatically at checkout, then you would probably want to disable this new setting to hide the coupon code on the product pages.

Coupon Discount Block

We’re excited to introduce a powerful new way to highlight discounts! While we’ve previously offered a shortcode that works with any page builder, our Coupon Discount block is specifically designed for the WordPress block editor, bringing added customization and control to SureCart users. This block lets you easily display any of the features related to the coupon discount, like the custom message, coupon code to copy, and countdown timers, and it will dynamically show or hide discounts based on the discount schedule.

To use it, simply add the Coupon Discount block to any page and include both the Product ID and our Discount ID.

• Product ID: Locate this by navigating to SureCart > Products and checking the URL of the specific product in your browser’s address bar.
• Discount ID: This new identifier can be found listed on each discount in the Discounts tab within SurelyWP’s addon settings.

With this new feature, you can now display discount notices using any page builder—including Gutenberg—allowing you to showcase discounts independently of default SureCart product pages.

Added TinyMCE Rich Text Editor And HTML Support In Discount Notice Message

You now have full control over the content of your message in the discount notice, thanks to the addition of the TinyMCE rich text editor and HTML support. 

SureCart Brand Color Support

The discount notices will now automatically adapt to match your SureCart brand colors, replacing the default blue color to ensure visual consistency across your store.

SureCart Dark Mode Support

If you’re using SureCart’s dark mode, the discount notice will automatically adjust to match (for supported themes), ensuring a seamless user experience.

Additional Improvements

• The font in textareas has been updated for improved readability and a more consistent look.
• A small but important UX improvement: the cursor will now change to a pointer when hovering over tabs, providing a clearer signal to users.
