Introduction

Setting up a sitewide sale can be a powerful way to increase sales, especially during high-demand seasons like Black Friday or other holidays. With our Discounts For SureCart plugin, you can now configure a discount that applies automatically to all products in your store, providing a convenient and smooth checkout experience for your customers. In this guide, we’ll show you how to quickly set up a sitewide discount with the added convenience of applying a coupon code automatically at checkout!

Step-by-Step Guide to Set Up a Sitewide Discount in SureCart

1. Install and Activate Discounts For SureCart

If you haven’t already, download and activate the Discounts For SureCart plugin to access the discount features.

2. Create a New Sitewide Discount

In the SureCart dashboard, navigate to the SurelyWP>Discounts and click the “Discounts” tab. There you can see any existing discounts or click the “Add New Discount” button.

3. Name and Enable The Discount

Give your discount a name—something that clearly represents the promotion, like “Black Friday Sitewide Discount.” This will make it easy to recognize and manage later.

4. Select Products For Discount

Next, decide which products should be eligible for the discount. You can choose specific individual products, apply the discount to products within a particular collection, or set the discount to apply to all products across your store. In our example, we will choose the “All Products” option to set a sitewide discount.

5. Choose Discount Method

You can select between two discount methods: Automatic Discount (applies the discount automatically to simple products with one-time prices) or Coupon Code (requires a coupon code and works for any price options). In this example, we’ll use the Coupon Code discount method to have the discount applied automatically at checkout.

FYI: We also have an automatic discount method, which changes the actual price of the product, displays a sale badge, and has a strikethrough on the original price. However, there are currently some limitations in the SureCart API that prevent us, as a third party, from implementing that method for subscription prices. 6. Create the Coupon Code in SureCart

Navigate to SureCart>Coupons, create your new coupon, and copy the “Promotion Code.” Paste this code into the “Coupon Code” field in the Discounts For SureCart plugin’s discount settings. You can then choose to display the code for customers to copy or apply it automatically during checkout.

7. Enable Setting To Apply Discount At Checkout

To automatically apply the coupon code at checkout, enable the feature in the discount settings. This feature simplifies the checkout journey, making it ideal for sitewide sales. 

8. Schedule The Discount

As an added bonus, you can easily schedule the discounts! Simply set a start and end date and time for the discount, and it will automatically activate between the selected dates—perfect for timed sales, like Black Friday promotions. 

9: Display Countdown Timer for Sale End

When you schedule your discount, you also have the option to display a countdown timer on the product page. This timer will start counting down to the scheduled sale end time, creating a sense of urgency for customers to act soon.
