Email Reports Settings
Explore all the settings to configure and customize the Email Reports feature!
NOTE: We display all settings, options, and interface screenshots directly on this product page rather than hiding them in separate documentation. This ensures complete transparency so you can see exactly what the plugin offers before purchasing. You can refer back here anytime while configuring and using the plugin, or after we release updates, to always find the latest information.
Add New Or Manage Existing Reports
Get started by navigating to the Email Reports tab in the plugin settings and clicking the button to create a new report. You can set up as many reports as you need, each with its own schedule, recipients, and data selection.
For example, you might create:
- A daily sales summary to track performance at a glance
- A weekly analytics overview for your team
- A monthly revenue report for stakeholders or accounting
If you’ve already created reports, they will appear in a list on this page. From there, you can easily edit, duplicate, or delete existing reports to keep everything up to date.

Give Your Reports A Clear And Meaningful Name
Every email report you send deserves a title that tells you exactly what’s inside at a glance. With our plugin, you can set a custom title for each report, making it easy to organize, identify, and track the insights that matter most to your store. Whether you’re managing multiple reports or sending updates to your team, a clear title keeps everyone on the same page.

Control When Your Reports Are Active
Decide at any time whether an email report is active or paused. The status toggle allows you to temporarily disable a report without deleting it, giving you full control over what insights are sent and when. This makes managing multiple reports effortless and ensures that your team only receives the information that’s relevant right now.

Include Test Data for Accurate Insights
Our Test Mode lets you include SureCart test data when generating your email reports. This is especially useful if you’re experimenting with new products, workflows, or automation and want to see how your metrics would appear without affecting real customer data. Test Mode ensures you can safely preview performance scenarios and make informed decisions before going live.

See Exactly What Your Reports Will Look Like
Before sending a report, you can preview it to check formatting, layout, and content. This feature helps you ensure that every email looks polished and professional, so your team or clients will receive insights in a clear and organized format. Email Preview provides peace of mind that your reports communicate exactly what you intend.

Set Recipients By Email Address Or User Role
Select your preferred method for sending reports. You can input specific email addresses or choose a user role, ensuring all members assigned to that role receive the report automatically.

Automate Report Delivery at the Perfect Time
Schedule your email reports easily with an intuitive feature. Select specific days, times, and frequencies to keep your team updated with timely insights effortlessly. This automation ensures your workflow remains smooth and consistent, so you never miss a beat tracking your store’s performance.

Customize Every Part of Your Email Reports
Gain full control over the appearance and content of your email reports when they reach your recipients. Customize the subject line with dynamic variables like {website_name}, {report_frequency}, and {report_period} to make each message immediately relevant. Automatically include your logo from your theme, or upload your own to maintain consistent branding. Personalize the header and body text to provide context, summaries, or highlights that matter most to your team. You can also opt to display previous period values for easy comparison, helping your recipients track trends and see progress at a glance.

Included Report Data Options
Unlock the full potential of your SureCart store with comprehensive email reports that give you a clear view of your sales, subscriptions, abandoned checkouts, and website performance. With these insights, you can track trends, monitor customer behavior, and make data-driven decisions to grow your business. Each metric can be enabled or disabled in each report, and you can drag each metric to rearrange its order according to your preference.

FAQs
Are the emails sent by your add-ons using the default SureCart email service or the site’s SMTP settings?
The emails sent by our add-ons use the default SMTP settings configured on your WordPress site, rather than the SureCart email service. If you’ve set up an SMTP plugin like WP Mail SMTP, those settings will control how emails are sent.
Can I send email templates that also pull data from the SureCart settings?
While our add-ons rely on the site’s SMTP settings, they don’t directly pull email settings or templates from SureCart. However, you can design and customize your email templates within your SMTP plugin or email service to reflect your SureCart branding and include relevant data.
The emails are sent via wordpress@ with "WordPress" as the sender name. Can I change this to use the sender address and title from the SureCart settings?
Yes, you can change the sender name and email address by configuring your SMTP settings. To use a different sender address, like “shop@”, and update the sender name, simply adjust these details in your SMTP plugin to match the preferences set in your SureCart settings, ensuring a consistent and branded email experience.
How to set up a server-side cron job?
To ensure the email reports are sent on schedule, it’s essential to configure a server-side cron job. While WordPress provides its own cron functionality, it’s crucial to understand that relying solely on it may not guarantee the consistent execution required by the nature of our plugin. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of setting up a server-side cron job step-by-step, ensuring that your SureCart Email Reports are generated and delivered reliably according to your preferences.
Access Your Hosting Control Panel: Log in to your hosting caontrol panel provided by your web hosting provider.
Locate Cron Jobs Section: Find the section labeled “Cron Jobs” or “Scheduled Tasks” within your hosting control panel.
Create a New Cron Job: Look for an option to create a new cron job or scheduled task. Click on it to proceed.
Set the Timing: Specify the timing for when you want the cron job to run. Since our SureCart Email Reports plugin requires frequent checks, it’s crucial to set it to run every minute.
Enter the Command: In the command or script field, enter the URL provided for the cron job. This URL should initiate all necessary cron tasks for our plugin. It should look like:{site_url}/wp-json/surelywp_er/v1/fetch-orders/ Replace {site_url} with the actual URL of your SureCart store. This command will trigger the execution of the cron tasks related to fetching orders for the Email Reports feature of your SureCart store.
Save the Cron Job: Once you’ve entered the command and set the timing to run every minute, save the cron job. Some control panels may require you to confirm or finalize the setup.
Verify Setup: After saving the cron job, ensure that it’s set up correctly by checking the cron jobs list in your hosting control panel. Confirm that the newly created cron job appears with the specified timing and command.
By following these steps and considering the specific functionalities of our SureCart plugin, users can effectively set up a server-side cron job to ensure the proper functioning of the email reports feature.
