Bring Customization Directly Into Your Product Pages

With the Product Fields feature in the Toolkit for SureCart plugin, you can easily collect extra details from your customers right on your product pages. This means you can add things like text boxes, dropdowns, or file uploads, and all that information gets saved with the order. It’s simple to set up, and you get to decide exactly where these fields show up on your store. This way, your customers can give you everything you need before they add a product to their cart, making the whole process smoother for everyone.

Building Field Groups That Power Your Store

Field Groups are the backbone of the Product Fields feature. Think of them as organized sets of fields you can attach to your products, so you only have to set things up once and then use them wherever you need. This makes life a lot easier, especially if you have lots of products that need the same options. From this screen, you can add new field groups, check on the ones you already have, and keep everything up to date. It’s a simple way to manage how your customers interact with your products, all in one place.

Configure Some General Settings For Each Field Group

When you open a Product Field Group, you’ll see a settings area where you can configure some basic details. Here, you can give the field group a name, decide when and where your fields show up in your store, and set which ones take priority if you have more than one group. This keeps things simple and lets you manage your fields easily, without having to set anything up on each individual product.

Choosing The Products Where Your Fields Appear

When you set up a field group, one of the first things to think about is which products you want your fields to show up on. You can choose to add your fields to every product, just a few specific ones, or even whole collections. This gives you a lot of control, whether you want your custom fields to be used everywhere or just in certain spots. After you make your choice, the fields will show up on the right product pages automatically, so you don’t have to do anything extra.

Setting Up The Fields Your Customers Will See On The Product Page

The Fields area is where you set up the fields and options your customers will fill out right on the product page. You might need a simple text input, a textarea, a dropdown menu, or even a way for customers to upload a file. You can add all of these here, and the interface keeps things simple so you do not get overwhelmed. Each field is made to be clear and easy to use, so you can collect the info you need without making your store harder to manage.

Every field you add shows up right on the SureCart product page, so your customers can fill in what you need before they add the item to their cart. This way, you get all the important details up front, which saves you time and avoids chasing down missing info later. You can also make certain fields required, so customers cannot check out without giving you what you need.

Product Fields also includes support for simple conditional visibility, allowing fields to appear only when a customer selects a specific option from a dropdown field. This makes it easy to create cleaner product pages that only ask for additional information when it is actually needed. For example, selecting “Someone Else” can automatically display fields for the recipient’s name and email address without requiring a complex rules builder.

Conditional Product Fields

Product Fields also includes support for simple conditional visibility, allowing fields to appear only when a customer selects a specific option from a dropdown field. This makes it easy to create cleaner product pages that only ask for additional information when it is actually needed.

This is ideal for personalization options, gift purchases, registrations, course enrollments, and countless other use cases where additional information is only required in certain situations.

For example, selecting “Someone Else” can automatically display fields for the recipient’s name and email address without requiring a complex rules builder.

Automatically Repeat Fields Based On Quantity

Some products require customers to provide separate information for each item they purchase. Product Fields can automatically repeat an entire field group based on the quantity selected, making it ideal for event registrations, course enrollments, personalized products, and similar use cases. For example, if a customer purchases three tickets, they can be prompted to enter three attendee names instead of just one. Each set of responses is stored separately with the order, keeping everything organized for both you and your customers.

Display Product Field Summaries Anywhere With A Shortcode

Product Fields now includes a shortcode that displays the values customers have already entered before completing checkout. This is especially useful for checkout pages, allowing customers to review personalization details, uploaded files, and other product field information before placing their order. The shortcode also supports displaying fields for a specific product and lets you customize the section heading, making it flexible enough to use throughout your store.

To show the information a customer has already filled in on another page, such as the checkout page, use the shortcode [surelywp_product_fields_summary]. It displays all saved product field values for the current shopper. Use product_id=”your_product_id_here” to limit the summary to one product, or heading=”Your Details” to customize the section title. Example: [surelywp_product_fields_summary heading=”Order Details”].

Displaying The Details In The Customer Dashboard And Admin Area

Whenever a customer fills out Product Fields, all that information is saved right into their order. You can see these details in the admin order view, and your customers can see them in their own SureCart Customer Dashboard. This way, both you and your customers always know exactly what was submitted, making things clear and easy to track for everyone.
