Enabling Product Visibility Override Rules
To start using Product Visibility Override Rules, simply enable the setting in your Toolkit settings. Once activated, this feature lets you take full control over which products are visible to different audiences on both the individual product pages and the shop or product listings.
By default, the checkboxes are selected to match SureCart’s standard behavior: draft products and products marked as unavailable for purchase are hidden from customers, while admins can still see everything. You can adjust these checkboxes to allow or restrict access as needed. For example, you might let logged-in customers preview draft products or temporarily hide a published product from the shop while still keeping it visible to admins.
This flexibility makes it easy to manage pre-launch previews, internal testing, or controlled access to certain products without changing their published or available status.
Product Page Visibility
The Product Page Visibility section controls who can access the individual product page URL for each combination of Publish Status and Availability. Each option has checkboxes for admins and customers. By default, SureCart hides Draft or Unavailable product pages from customers, but admins can always access them. With Toolkit, you can check or uncheck these boxes to override the defaults and allow the appropriate audience to view the page. For example:
- Draft + Available for Purchase – customers normally see a 404 page, but you can allow them to view it for previews or testing.
- Published + Unavailable for Purchase – you can keep it hidden from customers while still allowing admin access, or give selected customers temporary access if needed.
This section ensures that individual product pages are only accessible to the audiences you choose, giving you precise control over who sees what at all times.
Shop Page Visibility
The Shop Page Visibility settings work similarly, controlling whether products appear in your shop or product listing pages. Each combination of Publish Status and Availability has checkboxes for admins and customers, and the defaults reflect SureCart’s normal behavior: Draft and Unavailable products are hidden from customers, while admins can see everything.
You can adjust these checkboxes to show or hide products based on your workflow. For example:
- Show draft products to admins for internal review without displaying them to customers.
- Display unavailable products in the shop for certain customers while keeping them hidden from the general public.
