Add New Or Manage Existing Vacations
Get started by creating or managing vacations tailored to your needs. Configure multiple vacations with unique settings for SureCart products, including custom messages and schedules. For example, set a sitewide vacation notice or disable the add-to-cart functionality on all products, apply vacation mode to specific collections, or schedule vacations for select products on specific dates.
When you navigate to the “Vacation Mode” tab under the SurelyWP Toolkit For SureCart addon, you’ll find the option to create a new vacation. If you’ve already configured vacations on your site, they will be listed here for you to manage, edit, or remove as needed.
Add Title And Set The Status
In the individual vacation interface, whether creating a new vacation or editing an existing one, you’ll find settings to set up all the details. The first sections are about adding a title and setting the status to enabled or disabled.
Assign Vacation To Products
You can assign a vacation by selecting products for each vacation in the SurelyWP addon settings.

When setting up or editing a vacation in the SurelyWP addon settings, you can choose which products should display the notice or disable purchase. You can apply the vacation feature across all products, to specific products, or to products in specific collections.
Set Vacation Priority
Easily manage overlapping vacation schedules by assigning a priority level to each. When multiple vacations are active at the same time, the schedule with the highest priority will take effect, giving you full control over how your store operates during vacations.
Display Custom Message During Vacation
Keep your customers informed during vacation mode with customizable notices displayed across your store. These features give you the flexibility to communicate your vacation schedule effectively, ensuring transparency and reducing confusion for your customers.
Show A Sitewide Banner Notice
Let your visitors know about your vacation with a prominent banner that spans the top of your website. This ensures the notice is visible on every page, keeping customers informed no matter where they land.
Add Notices to Product Pages
Keep customers in the loop by displaying vacation notices directly on SureCart product pages. Choose where the message appears within the page layout to make it clear and noticeable without interfering with the shopping experience.
Write Your Custom Vacation Notice
Use the Vacation Notice Message field to craft a message that will be displayed during vacation mode. This allows you to communicate important details, such as when your store will be closed and how orders will be handled. For example:
“Our store is closed for the holiday. Orders placed today will be processed when we return. Thank you for your patience and understanding!”
Add Vacation Dates Dynamically
To ensure your message always reflects the correct vacation schedule and make it more informative, you can include dynamic variables like {vacation_start_date} and {vacation_end_date} to automatically insert the start and end dates of your vacation. For example:
“Our store will be closed from {vacation_start_date} to {vacation_end_date}. Orders placed during this time will be processed when we return. Thank you for your patience and understanding!”
Note: If you’re not using the vacation schedule feature, remember to remove these variables so they don’t display irrelevant placeholders in your notice.
Display Vacation Notices In Any Page Builder With A Shortcode
Using a page builder or custom layout? Add the vacation notice to any page by placing the [surelywp_vacation_notice] shortcode directly in your content. The notice dynamically displays when vacation mode is enabled, ensuring your message appears only when needed. This gives you the flexibility to integrate vacation notices seamlessly into any design or layout. Simply add the shortcode to any page. It automatically checks for the highest-priority active vacation and displays your custom notice accordingly.
Use The Vacation Block With The WordPress Block Editor
Easily display your vacation message with our dedicated Vacation block for the WordPress Block Editor. Specifically designed for block editor users, this feature lets you display vacation notices with enhanced flexibility and customization.
Simply add the Vacation block to any page, and it will automatically check for the highest-priority active vacation. Your custom notice will be displayed wherever you choose, making it easy to inform customers—even outside of SureCart’s default product pages.
Optionally Prevent Purchases During Vacation Mode
With the Toolkit For SureCart addon, you have full control over how purchases are managed during vacation mode.
Hide “Add to Cart” and “Buy Now” Buttons
Temporarily hide the “Add to Cart” and “Buy Now” buttons on SureCart product pages to prevent purchases while vacation mode is active.Disable Checkout Completely
Ensure that no purchases can be completed during vacation mode by disabling the entire checkout process. If vacation mode is applied to all products, customers attempting to access the checkout page will be redirected to the home page. For specific products or collections, customers cannot add those items to their cart, and clicking the “Buy Now” button also redirects them to the home page.
These features let you pause your store effortlessly, ensuring that purchases are prevented in line with your vacation preferences.
Easily Schedule Vacations
With our plugin, scheduling vacations is effortless—whether for fixed dates or recurring weekly closures! Simply set a start and end date and time, or select specific days of the week and times to activate Vacation Mode. During the selected periods, the custom vacation message will automatically appear on product pages or as a sitewide banner.
Fixed Schedules
Plan vacations for specific dates and times using the Fixed Based On Date/Time option. Simply select the start and end dates along with the time using intuitive date and time pickers. This option is perfect for planned breaks, such as holidays or maintenance, allowing you to specify exactly when your store should pause operations.
Recurring Schedules
For regular closures, use the Recurring Based on Days Of The Week option. Set a start day and time and an end day and time for your vacation. For instance, you could configure Vacation Mode to close your store every Friday at 6:00 PM and reopen on Monday at 9:00 AM. This option is ideal for consistent downtime, such as weekends or scheduled business hours.
SureCart Brand Color Support
The vacation notices will automatically adapt to match your SureCart brand colors, replacing the default blue color in the sitewide banner and product page notices to ensure visual consistency across your store.
SureCart Dark Mode Support
If you’re using SureCart’s dark mode, the vacation notice on product pages will automatically adjust to match (for supported themes), ensuring a seamless user experience.
