Fully Customize The SureCart Customer Dashboard Tabs
Take control of the SureCart Customer Dashboard like never before! With this powerful feature, you can personalize, organize, and simplify the dashboard experience for your customers. Whether you want to rename tabs, add custom content, link to other pages, or limit visibility based on user roles, it’s all right at your fingertips.
Access And Enable The Customer Dashboard Tab Settings
To start, navigate to the SurelyWP>Toolkit settings and open the Dashboard Tabs tab. From there, enable the “Enable Custom Tabs” setting. Once enabled, you’ll see a list of the default tabs in our custom UI where you can edit each tab, drag to reorder them, or even create new tabs.
Hide Tabs You Don’t Need
Keep your customer dashboard clean and relevant by hiding tabs that aren’t useful for your store. Whether you don’t sell subscriptions, don’t use downloads, or simply want to simplify the interface, you can easily toggle off any tab you don’t need. Just open the settings for a tab and disable the visibility option—no code or workarounds required. This helps reduce clutter and creates a more focused, intuitive experience for your customers.
Rename Tabs and Change Icons
Make the customer dashboard truly yours by customizing the tab names and icons. The default SureCart tab labels might not always match your store’s branding or terminology, but now, you can rename them to whatever makes the most sense for your business. For example, you might change “Plans” to “Subscriptions” or “Dashboard” to “My Account.”
You can also update the icons to reflect each tab’s purpose better. Just enter the name of any icon from Feather Icons (the same icon set SureCart uses), and it will appear in the Customer Dashboard menu next to the tab name.
Reorder Tabs To Fit Your Preferences
Put the most important information front and center by arranging the dashboard tabs in the order that makes the most sense for your store. A smooth customer experience starts with intuitive navigation, and this feature gives you complete control. Simply drag and drop each tab into place, then save your changes. The updated order will be reflected immediately in the Customer Dashboard menu.
Add New Custom Tabs
Now for the fun part: creating your own tabs! You can add as many custom tabs as you like, whether you need to provide FAQs, support information, or external resources. Enter a tab name, choose an icon from Feather Icons, and select the tab behavior.
Display Custom Content
Want to show helpful info directly inside the dashboard? Choose the Display Content behavior and insert any shortcode or custom HTML, which is perfect for FAQs, personalized instructions, support details, or even a custom dashboard view. Your content will appear inside the tab just like any built-in SureCart tab.
Link to Another URL
Need to direct customers elsewhere? Utilize the Link to URL behavior to transform a tab into a clickable link. Redirect users to another page on your site or to an external website suitable for documentation, help centers, or external account management tools.

Show Or Hide Tabs Based On User Roles Or Access Groups NEW
Want even more control over who sees what? With the Toolkit For SureCart, you can show or hide individual dashboard tabs based on WordPress user roles or SureMembers Access Groups. This opens up all kinds of possibilities for customizing the customer experience based on the type of user.
For example, maybe only your “Pro” members should see a special new tab you created with content just for those members. Or perhaps you want to hide the Plans tab from users with a “Subscriber” role. With just a few clicks, you can conditionally show or hide any tab based on the user’s role or SureMembers access group.
To configure this, open the tab settings and adjust the tab hiding criteria.
- Hide by User Role: Select one or more WordPress user roles. If a user has one of the selected roles, the tab will be hidden from them.
- Hide by SureMembers Access Group: If SureMembers is active, you’ll be able to select one or more Access Groups. If a user belongs to one of the selected groups, the tab will be hidden from them.
This makes it incredibly easy to personalize the dashboard experience and limit content to the right audience.
PRO TIP: If you want to check how this appears for each user roles, you can use the User Switching feature to switch to another user!
Tab Visibility Condition NEW
We’ve expanded the Customer Dashboard Tabs Customizer with a new visibility control setting. Previously, you could hide tabs based on user role or SureMembers access, but a customer requested the ability to show tabs only for selected users rather than just hiding them. To address this, we added a “Tab Visibility Condition” option. When using user roles or when SureMembers isn’t installed, you can now choose whether the tab should be visible or hidden for selected roles. Likewise, when using SureMembers access groups, the same condition can be applied based on group access. This makes it easier to create personalized dashboards where specific tabs are selectively shown or hidden depending on who is logged in.
