Discounts Is Now Marketing For SureCart!

We’re excited to share that Discounts for SureCart has officially evolved into Marketing for SureCart! The discounts plugin has been one of our most practical and popular tools, but its scope felt too limited. The new name reflects the huge expansion of features now available and sets the stage for even more in the future. New Features

Marketing for SureCart is expanding rapidly, and we want to give you a sneak peek at the exciting new features that have already been released and are in development. Visit the Marketing For SureCart product page for detailed descriptions and screenshots.

Renamed The Plugin

This isn’t exactly a new feature, but it’s a major change. We officially changed the name from Discounts for SureCart to Marketing for SureCart. At first glance, this may seem superficial, but it’s a big deal. The new name lays the foundation for a broader set of marketing tools, making discounts just one part of a more powerful plugin.

Version 1.3 was primarily a name change, but we’ve been rolling out more feature updates ever since in version 1.3.1 and 1.4. These updates give you a glimpse of what the new name means for the future. Access to all of these features mentioned below is available now, with many more coming soon!

Miscellaneous Discount Improvements

Alongside the rename, we released several improvements to make discounts more intuitive and easier to manage:

• Added tabs within each discount for easier navigation
• Introduced a “Discount Mode” setting to select whether a discount is active or scheduled
• Added status badges for scheduled, expired, disabled, active, or evergreen discounts
• Rearranged settings for better logical flow
• Updated setting labels and terminology for clearer explanations

Evergreen Discounts

Our discounts feature is becoming more flexible than ever. Previously, you could set discounts to be active immediately or scheduled for specific dates and times. Now, we’ve introduced a third option: Evergreen!

The new Evergreen Discount Mode lets you set a countdown timer duration that starts when a visitor first lands on the page, and then expires. All the other coupon discount settings function the same as before with everygreen mode, so everything is familiar to set up.

This feature offers complete customization options to control the countdown duration, hide purchase buttons or redirect after the countdown ends, set custom text for the countdown timer, and even set a custom cookie name and cookie duration for when it should reset for each user in the future.

Sitewide Sale Banner

Just in time for Black Friday, you can now enable a sitewide banner across your entire site! No page builder required, since this works with any theme and is a convenient way to announce sales. It also supports coupon variables, coupon values, scheduling, and other features, just like the product page discount notices.

Coupon Code And Coupon Value Variables For Discount Message

You can now include {coupon_code} and {coupon_value} variables in your discount messages. This small addition makes a big difference in personalization! For example:

• “Copy the coupon code ABC123 and apply it at checkout for a $10 discount!”
• “Save 30% on everything!”

Previously, the coupon code was hardcoded at the end of the custom message in the discount notice on product pages. Now, you can enable a setting to make the {coupon_code} variable clickable, making it easy and intuitive for visitors to copy the code directly from your discount messages.

Coupon Applied With Checkbox

Inspired by Amazon, this optional feature allows visitors to apply a coupon by checking a box on the product page. The coupon code appears in a stylized tag with customizable text, like:

“Save an extra {coupon_value} when you apply this coupon.”

Customers just click the checkbox, and the discount is automatically applied—simple and intuitive!

Shortlinks

Many of you will love this! Now you can create, manage, and share short, user-friendly links that redirect to any URL. Perfect for turning long, scary-looking URLs with product setups, variations, or discount codes into clean, shareable links.

Shortlinks also support an optional expiration, giving you full control over how long the link stays active. When a shortlink expires, you can choose exactly what happens next using the Expiration Redirect setting. Send visitors to a fallback URL of your choice, like a new promotion, your homepage, or an updated product page.

Simply enter a title, paste the original URL, set a custom slug if you want, optionally add an expiration and expiration redirect, generate the shortlink, and share it anywhere in your marketing.

What’s Next

Now that the foundation is set with the new name, we are working hard to expand Marketing for SureCart with tools to help you boost sales, manage products, and engage customers. Upcoming features currently in development or planned include:

• Stock FOMO – Display low stock notices, badges, and meters, complete with full customization settings for setting thresholds, colors, and messages.
• Activity Indicators – Show notices about recent product purchases, current product viewers, and how many people have this product in their cart.
• Scheduled Products – Set precise start and end times for product visibility and purchasing, perfect for launches, promotions, or limited-time offers.
• Wishlist – Let customers save their favorite products to a list. Our original addon is merging with Marketing very soon, with some clever integrations in mind
• Save For Later – Allow customers to save products in their cart for later, just like Amazon does. This encourages customers ot add products to their cart.
• Tracking & Scripts – Add custom scripts or tracking codes sitewide or on specific pages to integrate marketing tools, analytics, and conversion pixels
• Waiting List – Sign up to be notified when a product is not yet available or is scheduled to release (pending release of SureCRM)
• Back In Stock Email Notifications – Alert customers when out-of-stock products become available to drive engagement and sales. (pending release of SureCRM)
